Your first visit

Your first visit with a chiropractor should be an eye-opening and soul-freeing experience. Our goal is not simply to find out what is “wrong” with you so that we can “fix” it. Rather, our goal is to understand the entire person in order to create achievable health goals. We want to empower you to take your health and your life into your own hands.

The first visit begins with intake forms that are meant to tell us your entire health story. This includes challenges, achievements, and goals past, present, and future. This information will then be explained through the context of the chiropractic mindset. We firmly believe that the body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism. Rather than chase symptoms, we will look to the causes of dis-ease within your body in order find the root of dysfunction.

Next is a comprehensive neuro-spinal exam. Chiropractors are doctors of the nervous system – the master controller and integrator of all other systems in the body. The spine is the protector of the nervous system. Therefore, any misalignment in the spine no matter how small can have a detrimental effect on your body’s ability to operate, integrate, and heal. Chiropractors check your spine for subluxation – the physical manifestation of interference in the nervous system.

We finish with an adjustment. This frees your body of interference and enables the whole system to function as it should – perfectly! Each time you get adjusted, your body is developing new patterns, new habits, and better function. A chiropractic adjustment trains the body to turn negative stress into positive stress.

After the initial adjustment we ask our practice members to be hyper aware of the changes happening in their bodies. This enables us to better understand how your body is affected by an adjustment, and how we can expect your system to respond going forward. After the second adjustment we come up with a care plan together. This care plan reflects the goals and realities of each individual. It is the road map to achieving better health and function every single day.
